5/6/2013 – National Honorees for 2013 Announced

Ten middle level and high school students from across the country were named America’s top youth volunteers of 2013 today by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards during the program’s 18th annual national award ceremony at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They are: Allyson Ahlstrom of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Emma Astrike-Davis of Durham, N.C.; Zachary Certner of Morristown, N.J.; Michael-Logan Jordan of Kailua, Hawaii; Erica LeMere of Shreveport, La.; Louie McGee of St. Paul, Minn.; Virginia Newsome of Lexington, Ky.; Teagan Stedman of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; Cassie Wang of Lenexa, Kan.; and Joshua Williams of Miami Beach, Fla.

2/5/2013 -- State Honorees and Distinguished Finalists for 2013 Announced

America’s 102 most outstanding youth volunteers – two from each state and the District of Columbia – were named State Honorees today by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for exemplary acts of volunteerism. The program’s judges also recognized 234 students nationwide as Distinguished Finalists for their impressive community service activities.

9/4/2012 -- 18th Annual Search Under Way for Nation’s Top Youth Volunteers

Over the past 17 years, Prudential Spirit of Community Awards have been given to more than 100,000 middle and high school students across the country for helping the less fortunate, promoting health and safety, protecting the environment, and serving their communities through many other volunteer activities.  This week the search begins to identify thousands more who have made meaningful contributions to their communities over the past 12 months, as the prestigious awards program kicks off its 18th year.

Ten of this year's 102 State Honorees were named America's top youth volunteers for 2012 on May 7 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The 10 National Honorees are: Candonino Agusen of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; Neha Gupta of Yardley, Pa.; Samantha Kerker of Boca Raton, Fla.; Catherine Mitchell of Oceanside, Calif.; Jordyn Schara of North Freedom, Wis.; Matthew Benjamin of Tulsa, Okla.; Emily Kladar of Hayden Lake, Idaho; Raymond Mohler of Lynbrook, N.Y.; Gracie Schram of Leawood, Kan.; and Ashlee Smith of Sparks, Nev.
