William Vaughan, Whitesburg Middle School, Huntsville, organized a clothing drive for the homeless. He recruited 25 people to help him collect clothes by setting up collection sites, going door-to-door, and requesting donations from local businesses. Vaughan spent 100 hours on the project and amassed over 500 items. The clothes were distributed at a dinner for the homeless sponsored by the Inter-Faith Council of Churches.
"This experience has reinforced my belief that one person can make a difference in the world."
