State Honoree

Michael Rogovin

Michael Rogovin, Sharon Middle School, volunteered at The Family Inn, a place for Boston-area patients to stay with their families while awaiting transplant surgeries. During his nine months of service, he re-stocked kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom supplies, and tried to keep the visitors entertained with movies and conversation. Rogovin once had surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor, so he wanted to help others who were undergoing major operations.

"Through this experience, I learned that a little love goes a long way and if you look deep, most people are good inside."
