Anne Treat, Fargo South High School, is an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. She volunteers at Fargo's Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, answering phone calls from victims during her several 12-hour shifts each month. To honor survivors of abuse and reclaim the safety of the streets, she also organizes and promotes Fargo's annual "Take Back the Night" march, which this year had the highest attendance ever.
"Volunteering is invaluable. I wish more people understood what an incredible difference one person is able to make."
