Amy Johnson, Essex High School, Essex Junction, volunteered to take over her church's junior choir when the church council decided it could no longer afford a paid director. Since then, the choir has grown from 8 to 32 members, and won increased parental involvement and support. Because of Johnson's work, the church council has decided to train another youth to replace her when she goes to college.
"Working with others to achieve a common goal has been fun and challenging. Being a part of an intergenerational team has made me more aware of the unique contributions of each generation."
