Tasha Daft, 14, of Mannington Middle School in Mannington, West Virginia, wants to help protect the earth and all its inhabitants and has undertaken many service projects to accomplish her goal. Through her 4-H Club, Tasha has helped to clean area streams, pick up garbage along major roads, and plant wildflowers. Motivated by her work with 4-H, Tasha created several projects on her own, including "Flower Power," for which she plants flowers and trees in parks throughout town, and "Trash, Treasure, Recycling," for which she takes recycled trash and turns it into artwork. Finally, Tasha has built bird houses and habitats for birds, butterflies and bats. "Our world is worth it," said Tasha.
