State Honoree

Tiffany Georges

founded “Hugs and Kisses from the Heart,” an organization that gives teddy bears to sick, homeless and grieving children. “Hugs and Kisses from the Heart” was created after Tiffany lost her car as a punishment by her parents for getting a speeding ticket. Tiffany’s mother told her she could get the car back early if she performed a community service. After reading about a teenage girl who collected hats for cancer patients, Tiffany realized she wanted to do more than just pick up trash around town to get her car back – she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. She wrote letters to businesses asking for teddy bears and monetary donations and ended up collecting 5,000 stuffed animals and $2,000 in donations. “What started out as a punishment has now become a labor of love,” explained Tiffany. “There are a lot of people out there that are hurt. If you try to help one of them you will make a tremendous difference.”
