Distinguished Finalist

Brantley Gunn, 17, of Brandon, Mississippi, a member of the Rankin County 4-H and a home-schooled 12th-grader, helped found a nonprofit organization to buy and repair abandoned homes, recruit student volunteers to work on the structures, and offer them to underprivileged families at below-market prices. The organization, Students Aiding Indigent Families, currently has 200 members.
