Distinguished Finalist

Charlotte Hulme, 17, of Alma, Mich., a senior at Sacred Heart Academy in Mt. Pleasant, founded a club in her community that raises money to provide micro-loans to poor entrepreneurs around the world. Charlotte assembled a Board of Directors made up of students and adults, made presentations to community organizations, and recruited club members whose dues so far have supported 13 entrepreneurs in 10 Asian, African, and Latin American countries.
