Distinguished Finalist

Hillary Karbowski, 17, of Three Rivers, Mich., a senior at Three Rivers High School, organized a community book drive that collected more than 10,000 new and gently used books for Invisible Children, a nonprofit organization aiding impoverished and ailing children in Uganda. Invisible Children used the proceeds from selling the books to help provide housing, education, clean water, and sanitation facilities in Uganda.
