Distinguished Finalist

Arthur Nguyen, 17, of St. Paul, Minn., a junior at Johnson Senior High School, raised more than $22,000 to cover a year's worth of food and operating costs at the Dorothy Day Center, which serves the homeless in St. Paul. Arthur solicited door to door, held a benefit dinner with 500 people in attendance, and worked with state legislators to present a bill that would enable taxpayers to make donations on their tax returns.
