Distinguished Finalist

Christopher Olmanson, 17, of Wayzata, Minn., a senior at Wayzata High School in Plymouth, helped raise more than $25,000 to provide water systems for five schools in the Philippines, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. Christopher, along with his brother and a friend, created the "Wayzata Walk for Water," for which they recruited other students to walk 1.5 miles to school each day for a month in frigid temperatures to symbolize the walk that children in many countries have to make every day to get fresh water.
