Distinguished Finalist

Shahrzad Mohtadi, 17, of Edina, Minn., a senior at Edina High School, advocates for genocide victims in the Darfur region of Sudan as the founder and president of her school's STAND chapter. She organized two awareness events that drew 1,300 attendees, including one held at the State Capitol on the 100th day of President Obama's administration.
