Distinguished Finalist

Johanna Smith, 18, of Somerset, Wis., a senior at Somerset High School, recruited more than 80 women to make 30 quilts for young girls living at the Hogar de Ninas al Alba orphanage in Osorno, Chile. Johanna, who had volunteered at the orphanage years before, traveled back to Chile in March 2009 to deliver the quilts.
