Distinguished Finalist

Rossi Clark, 17, of Science Hill, Ky., a 4-H volunteer with the Pulaski County Extension Office and a senior at Pulaski County High School in Somerset, created "M.U.S.I.C. (Music Understanding of Stringed Instrument Club,)" to increase awareness of and provide instruction in traditional Appalachian instruments. Since 2008, Rossi has raised $3,000 and organized the free after-school program for students to experience string instruments and develop a greater appreciation and understanding of Appalachian musical culture.
